A question I have about Neil
When I last looked here, Neil had one of the most wonderful photos I’ve ever seen as his icon.
The picture was of person wearing colourful bright clothing, casually sitting on a deckchair. The twist was that the foldup camping-chair was safely placed on huge piece of drift ice, floating in the middle of pristine blue water. The water surrounded the ice and stretched towards the camera in the foreground and out, reaching to the foot of snow-topped mountains in the distance.
The frameing and telephoto lense gave a feeling of immense size, space and perhaps loneliness, but also comfort and achievement, as though there was nobody else there, not even the person behind the camera.
If I ever had a portrait done, I would want it to be like that.
The image has disappeared …but I’m hopeful that perhaps it might return someday, I did enjoy looking at it!
